The hair is the glory on the crown of mankind.
It is our mission to restore the glory to the
crown of every man woman and child who has
lost the gloriousness of their crown”
created to offer free hair services to people that cannot
afford it namely, individuals in transitional living.
Secondly, we will provide hair replacement for those
suffering from severe hair loss and are unable to afford
the costs of hair replacement. These services will be
provided to women, men and children alike. Our
qualifications for eligibility to receive basic hair services
are that the individual can provide documentation that
they are living in transitional housing. The hair
replacement participants must have severe hair loss and
be willing to participate in a documentary. It is our goal
to help the underprivileged, those with little to no
income.
Our founder, Sharon Shearer, is a master in the field of
hair restoration. She has worked in the hair industry for
nearly 15 years giving her the expertise needed to start
this program. Through her business she has been in the
heart breaking situation of having to turn people away
who were unable to pay for her services. Because of
this she has realized that there was a need from people
who were disadvantaged and began working with
YWCA to help women in their battered women’s
shelter. Through continued support from the YWCA
Glorious Crowns has been able to make a difference in
women’s lives and have helped encourage Glorious
Crowns to continue their work.
Glorious Crowns’ vision is to offer free hair services to
individuals with unspecified hair loss, cancer patients,
and those living in transitional housing ie: shelters,
halfway house, and drug rehabilitation. We will make
life changing hair replacements for hair loss victims and
simultaneously document the physical, emotional and
social effects of people who have lost their “crowning
glory”.
It is our belief that through hair restoration and basic
hair cares services that can make an impact on the
future of our participants by helping better their self
esteem. Any funding for glorious crowns are raised to
start the grassroots program, continue to build the
relationships with organizations that will assist on
pinpointing those in need. Acquire the materials needed
to set up a salon atmosphere for the carrying out of the
project at hand, add individual cases we would like to
highlight in our documentary, locate organizations that
are interested in receiving the anticipated documentary.
And our objectives .For the program is to serve 75
percent of those referred to Glorious Crowns and
document at least fifty stories within the first year of our
program.
